Kluger Peretz Kaplan and Berlin wins the Community Fundraising Champion Award for the 2006 Law Firm Challenge

Abbey Kaplan, founding partner, Kluger, Peretz, Kaplan & Berlin, P.L., has been an active supporter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation since his son was diagnosed with Crohn’s seven years ago in high school. Both Mitchell E. Widom and Kaplan understand the impact of Crohn’s disease. Widom, a partner with Bilzin Sumberg, has been raising funds for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America since 1998 when his nephew was diagnosed with the disease. In 2004, his daughter was also diagnosed with Crohn’s.

Widom founded the annual Keymorada Invitational Fly-Spin Tournament – a fundraiser to help fight Crohn’s disease. “Mitch has been very effective in his endeavors to raise awareness of Crohn’s disease,” said John Sumberg, managing partner. “He has worked very hard to make the tournament a success, and we are proud to support those efforts.”

A unique part of the Fly-Spin Tournament is the Law Firm Challenge (LFC). With 127 law firms across the nation participating, the challenge starts in Novemeber and the law firm that gathers the largest donation by May takes away the LFC trophy.  Kluger Peretz Kaplan and Berlin became the first LFC trophy holder, and they proudly passed it on to the 2006 Champion, Grossman, Roth, et. al P.A.

In 2006, Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin was again honored for their contribution to the national Law Firm Challenge.  The firm received the first Community Fundraising Champion Award.  The firm's contribution included support from Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin lawyers and the greater South Florida Community.   For complete article click here.
