     TAMPA—Working with four other national law firms, Miami-based KPKB recovered $493 million for the U.S. government’s Resolution Trust Corporation by pursuing malpractice claims against the accountants and law firms of six failed banks.

     KPKB handled several cases on behalf of the government, including one in which it represented the U.S. receiver in the recovery of assets in the then-largest South Florida savings and loan failure, CenTrust Bank.

     The firm prosecuted malpractice claims and others matters for Resolution Trust in Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Arizona, recovering significant real estate and other bank assets.
