Business & Real Estate Transactions
The Business and Real Estate Transaction practice represents buyers and sellers in the purchase of businesses, commercial real estate, and other assets. The firm is also extensively involved in the formation of corporations, partnerships, and joint ventures designed to carry out a wide array of business purposes, both domestically and internationally.
The firm is often involved with clients in each stage of their transactions. In the securities field, KPKB represents entities in private and public securities offerings, minority investments, and ongoing SEC compliance, as well as advising boards of directors and board committees in fulfilling their legal and fiduciary obligations.
Co-chaired by Eliot Abbott and Jon Chassen, the practice includes several lawyers who are serving or have served as general counsel or associate counsel of large companies based in South Florida.
Intellectual Property Law
The Intellectual Property Law practice consists of lawyers experienced in dealing with worldwide intellectual property issues. Activities include:
- preparing trademark and copyright registrations issued by the state of Florida, the United States, and foreign countries
- litigating a broad range of trademark, copyright, and trade-secret cases in federal and state courts, both in Florida and nationally
- handling patent registration, acquisition and protection
- addressing adversarial proceedings involving U.S. Customs and IP issues arising in international trade
