R.J. GATORS FILES FOR RELIEF UNDER CHAPTER 11
June 27, 2007 - West Palm Beach, Florida - Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin announced today that their client, R.J. GATORS, INC., operating eight (8) R.J. Gators restaurants and fifteen (15) franchises, filed for relief under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida, West Palm Beach Division.
"The filing of this Chapter 11 proceeding will allow R.J. Gators the opportunity to reorganize its business by allowing the company to abandon its unprofitable sectors so it can concentrate on its franchise business and its profitable restaurants," stated attorney Bradley Shraiberg of Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin speaking on behalf of his client. "By abandoning the unprofitable sectors, R.J. Gators will emerge from bankruptcy as a leaner, profitable company that will be able to provide its customers with the same great food, service and atmosphere that they have enjoyed for over 20 years. R.J. Gators wants to emphasize that this process from beginning to end will be seamless and its customers will not see any changes at its restaurants."
The company currently employees 410 employees. It does not anticipate any layoffs nor closings.
