South Florida Law Firm Announces Two New Partners

MIAMI – March 7, 2008 – Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin (KPKB), a 50-attorney  South Florida law firm, announced today that two attorneys have been named as partners: 

Dee Dee Fischer, in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and  

William R. Trueba Jr., in the Intellectual Property Law Practice Group

Dee Dee Fischer is a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group and focuses her practice on commercial litigation and appeals in federal and state courts.  During her nearly fifteen years of practice, she has litigated, tried and arbitrated a broad range of of matters to include partnership and shareholder disputes, construction and real estate disputes, securities litigation, director and officer liability, unfair competition and trade secret matters, and insurance disputes. Before becoming an attorney, Dee Dee served in the United States Army as an intelligence analyst and an Arabic linguist.  She was awarded an ROTC scholarship to  Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where she earned her Bachelor's of Science in International Economics.  She then earned her JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the  University of Miami Law Review.   

William R. Trueba Jr., a registered patent attorney and electrical engineer, is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Law Group. Will provides intellectual property-related legal services and practical business counseling with regard to the protection of intellectual property assets, including patent acquisition, trademark and copyright protection, computer-based technologies, right of publicity and trade secrets for clients in industries ranging from electronics, to hospitality, to the building trades.  He also represents his clients in federal and state court complex commercial litigation involving patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret issues. Prior to becoming an attorney, Will worked for Florida Power and Light as an Engineer. Will earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University.   He currently serves as the President of FIU Alumni Association Board of Directors. 

Both partners are resident in the firm's Miami office. The firm also maintains an office in Boca Raton.
