Practice Section Midwinter meeting.

Attendees will hear from a distinguished panel of litigators and in-house counsel regarding the trends and significant decisions on topics including
(1) the recent trends in litigation, regulation and legislation impacting Stranger Owned Life Insurance (STOLI), and the continuing debate over the interpretation of the term “insurable interest”; (2) the rising trend of courts to interpret the term “accidental death” in accidental death policies to exclude deaths resulting from intentional reckless behavior creating a substantial risk of injury or death, such as driving while intoxicated or under the influence of non-prescription drugs, excessive speeding, and autoerotic asphyxiation; and (3) an “updates” session that will include an overview of recent significant federal and state court decisions that address the life and accidental death insurance-related issues.
