Abbey has 30 years of experience helping clients resolve business torts dealing with issues such as: fraud, negligence, partnership and corporate breakups, professional liability, contracts, and intellectual property. His extensive courtroom experience coupled with a prior history of transactional representation make him uniquely qualified to handle sophisticated commercial litigation.

Professional athletes and entertainers have called upon Abbey to negotiate, mediate, and when necessary litigate contract disputes and other matters involving their good name or other intellectual property. He is also often called upon when personal or family matters arise that require confidential legal counsel.

Following the Money:  My client’s accountant stole $1 million from him—as well as some $7 million from other businesspeople.  But instead of charging the accountant with fraud, I claimed negligence, resulting in my client getting back his million, and more.  He was the only claimant that recovered more than ten cents on the dollar!

Making a Silk Purse:  Although the only true statement on my client’s application for a professional liability policy was his name, I was able to convince the insurer that it could lose its claim of fraud in court.  As a result, my client won a multi-million-dollar benefit.
