“My clients like me because I’m responsive to their concerns. They can count on me for timely answers to any questions - no matter how small - while keeping them updated on the big picture.”
--Casey H. Cusick, Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Casey is principally focused on helping clients involved in complex litigation. He has devoted much of his legal practice to defending aviation, product liability, premises liability, catastrophic personal injury, and wrongful death claims. His more noteworthy experience includes representing a major United States corporation at a multi-million dollar mediation.
“I thrive on problem solving and believe in delivering results for my clients. I practice law because it challenges me to analyze and understand complex legal theories and apply them to my clients’ real-life problems.”
During law school, Casey was Projects Editor of the University of Miami Law Review. In this position, he organized a symposium on cutting-edge developments in class action litigation which featured nationally renowned litigators and members of the federal judiciary.
From Casey’s Case Files:
Winning a motion to dismiss. I was defending a developer against a personal injury claim in federal district court. Because of the large number of parties involved and the complex factual and legal issues, the case had the potential to become highly labor-intensive, at a significant cost to my client's insurer. After carefully researching the procedural issues, I was able to obtain a dismissal of all pending claims against my client prior to any substantial discovery taking place—at a minimal cost to my client's insurer.
Uncovering crucial evidence. In my first case out of law school, I was defending a national bank against a premises liability claim. While investigating the facts, I uncovered computer records which almost no one (including the bank's representatives) knew existed and which conclusively established that my co-defendant was one hundred percent liable for the plaintiff's injuries. As a result, I was able to convince our co-defendant to settle on my client's behalf at zero cost to my client.
