“My most satisfying cases come when I find a favorable resolution before my client incurs much time and expense.
--Mike Perse, Litigation and Dispute Resolution
**
Clients engage Michael to represent them in commercial disputes at both the trial and appellate levels. He is a seasoned trial lawyer who over the course of his years in practice has achieved noteworthy experience in resolving insurance disputes and insurance coverage issues. Because of his personal interest in aviation, Michael has naturally gravitated toward helping clients who are involved in the aviation industry or with aviation-related matters.
“I like to work with a client to avoid costly litigation by pre-suit planning and anticipatory prevention—then everyone benefits. I want my clients to know they shouldn’t hesitate to call about any issue that could affect their business. When clients call me in advance of a major business decision, then I know I’ve earned their trust.”
Away from the office, Michael is active in his local community. He is the head of the local Cub Scout pack of over 80 scouts, and he is a member and past President of the Parents' Association of Canterbury School on the campus of the University of Miami.
From Mike’s Case Files
Finding the Loot: A bankruptcy trustee was having trouble recovering estate assets that had been looted from a company by its former owner. But by using aggressive pre-judgment execution procedures—including levies by U.S. Marshals—I helped seize hidden artifacts and gold bars stolen by the former owner. That meant recovery of those assets for the company’s numerous small, mom-and-pop investors.
Keeping the Family Business in the Family: My client’s brother and partner in a lucrative family business died unexpectedly, throwing the future of the business into doubt. But I was able to negotiate a favorable pre-litigation settlement with the widow that ensured my client would keep his family business and be able to pass it on to his heirs.
